Espresso and tonic sounds like an odd combination until you try it. The bitterness of the coffee and the bitterness of the tonic cancel each other out in the most interesting way, leaving something sparkling, fresh, and a little unexpected. Your MyBlend handles the slushy base in seconds.

Espresso Tonic Slush

Ingredients

  • 1 espresso
  • 150ml tonic water
  • 1/2 lime, juiced
  • 1 to 2 tsp honey or sugar syrup, optional
  • 1 large handful of ice

Instructions

  • Add ice and a small splash of tonic water to your MyBlend 3.
  • Blend quickly for about 15 seconds to form a slushy base.
  • Pour into a glass and add the remaining tonic water and lime juice.
  • Stir gently, sweeten if you like, and top with freshly brewed espresso from your MyBlend Portable Espresso Machine.
Tip: Blend only the ice and a small splash of tonic for the slush — if you blend the full amount of tonic the carbonation disappears and the texture turns flat. Add the rest of the tonic after blending.
